L’Oms sta vigilando sulla nuova sottovariante B.1.640.2 rilevata nel sud della Francia, per quanto “non stia circolando molto attivamente”. Lo ha detto la responsabile epidemiologa dell’Organizzazione mondiale della sanità, Maria Van Kerkhove, secondo cui “questa variante rappresenta meno dell’1% dei casi in Francia. Ci sono due sottovarianti, la B.1.640.1 e la B.1.640.2, ed è importante che le seguiamo, per la quantità delle mutazioni, ma non sta circolando molto attivamente”.
