Stato d’emergenza a New York in vista di una possibile impennata di contagi a causa anche della variante Omicron, il nuovo ceppo sudafricano del virus su cui ieri l’Oms ha lanciato l’allarme. Lo ha annunciato la governatrice dello Stato, Kathy Hochul, precisando che l’emergenza entrerà in vigore venerdì prossimo 3 dicembre. “Continuiamo a vedere segnali di aumento in occasione dell’inverno e, anche se la nuova variante Omicron non è stata rilevata a New York, sta arrivando”.
